About
Overview
Timely, accurate, and accessible data empowers individuals, leaders, and organizations to take collective action and change our communities for the better - but data can be noisy. For community decision makers, it can be challenging to translate complex, often siloed, data into collective narratives, action, and impact. A Community Wellbeing Dashboard empowers communities, leaders, and organizations with the real-time information needed to take action and adapt decisions to affect positive change. As a highly collaborative effort, a Community Wellbeing Dashboard builds relationships and trust across sectors, growing local and regional capacity to collaborate on bigger and more complex issues.
Collaboration
A dashboard project is a highly collaborative process. Contributing dashboard partners commit to participating in a dashboard collaborative. Dashboard collaboratives help identify and prioritize focus area metrics, review iterations of the dashboard, serve as ambassadors for the dashboard, and abide by the co-created principles for the collaborative effort. Contributing partners typically serve in working groups that help shape the dashboard, providing input on how and what data is presented and how it is linked to other community resources.
LegacyWorks Group stewards the dashboard development process and its maintenance over time, holding it in trust for the contributing partners and the community as a whole. This includes facilitating the dashboard collaborative and staffing systems for continuous improvement of the dashboard platform and user experience. With input from the collaborative, the LegacyWorks dashboarding team manages and sustains the organization, visualization, and presentation of the data long term.
Community sponsors also play an important role in many of our dashboarding projects. Sponsors are businesses, foundations, and philanthropic individuals who financially support our collaborative dashboard projects. Sponsors help make our dashboard enterprise accessible, inclusive, and sustainable.
Equity and Resilience
By sharing priority metrics and making connections between and within each focus area, we hope to enable community members and decision makers to gain a better understanding of how different subsets of the community are impacted in proportionate and disproportionate ways. This information can then be used to help guide policy making and develop programs to better address inequities, meet individual and community needs, and build pathways to increase resilience for all members of our communities.
